Meet Elijah Sapko of Insaiyan Energy in Tempe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elijah Sapko.

Elijah, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am the founder of Insaiyan Energy.

Think about a product that your younger former self would look up to you for creating. Got it? Good. That is what Insaiyan Energy is for me.

While an original name, Insaiyan Energy actually gets its namesake from an old TV show I watched as a child called Dragon Ball Z. A “saiyan” is a race with superhuman abilities not limited to super strength and the ability to fly. Goku, a childhood hero of mine is a saiyan and always had what it took to save the world. Goku could do anything. How inspiring! Fast forward several years and there has recently been a resurge of DBZ! (*screaming & shouting frantically*)

As I sat and watched the new releases of one of my favorite tv shows ever, I once again found myself thinking how cool it would be to have the powers of a saiyan like Goku. So I made a product that embodies what being a saiyan is all about!

Like my favorite show, Insaiyan energy drink is great from the start and holds true to its high expectations until it’s done. It’s tasty, sugar-free, full of antioxidants and provides you with clean energy so you feel focused and ready to conquer the day.

My mission is to share Insaiyan Energy with DBZ & energy drink fans around the world and to remind everybody that even your childhood dreams have a place in the World.

Has it been a smooth road?
There has been ups and downs for sure. Perfecting the taste & formula was more time consuming than I expected but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I have a product I’m confident with and that speaks volumes. Also, I’d say really learning how the beverage industry works have been a challenge. Most people seem to focus on what’s trending and just do that. I think the smartest thing that you can do in business and life, in general, is to just genuinely be yourself and allow your product to speak for itself.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Insaiyan Energy story. Tell us more about the business.
Insaiyan Energy is an energy drink that gives you clean energy, a euphoric feeling, increased drive, and the feeling to be able to conquer anything you set your mind to. We created Insaiyan Energy to be an energy drink that provides you with a taste and a feeling like no other drink has before. I think that we are hyper-focused on telling our story of what really brought us to life, which is a passion for energy drinks and dragon ball z. There are no smoke screens or bullshit marketing plays to hype us up. It is exactly what we say it is and we’re proud of it just like that.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
As crazy as it sounds, energy drinks have become a household product now. There’s a ton of competition in the market who are always rolling out new products whether it be just flavors or some type of new additive to the drink. There is the big name brands, the little fish brands and the niche markets in between. We are living in a very interesting time right now where we are experiencing huge shifts in the marketplace for what is legal and illegal to add to a drink. Needless to say, it will be fun to be a part of the market and see how everything continues to evolve.
