Meet Eddie Rose

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eddie Rose.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I am from Denver, Colorado born and raised. Since I was three years old, my love and passion had always been for basketball. I saw nothing else but the dream of playing one day in college. Eventually, as time progressed, I found myself losing love for the game.

Growing up, I was interested in photography and videography but never took any action in pursuing it. When my junior year of high school came around, I picked up my first camera and started shooting everything. I didn’t see the art behind filmmaking and photography while playing basketball, but my senior year is when I started to get really serious about filmmaking, and I started to make short films with my friends.

Eventually, I started to find a passion for it, and I strive to become better at it every day.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
My life hasn’t always been a smooth road. When I was a junior in high school, my parents got a divorce. For any kid, a divorce wasn’t something they wanted to go through. For me, going through my parent’s divorce hit me a lot differently. I was kicked out of my father’s home and didn’t speak to him for almost two years.

With a lot of confusion and guilt, my senior year came around, and I thought everything would be better. I ended up losing my best friend, my grandfather, to cancer. Everything hit me at once. My parent’s divorce, being kicked out of my fathers, losing my grandfather to cancer. I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t know how to handle all of the emotion and feelings that were trapped inside of me.

At the time, I had a teacher who used to tell me “when adversity strikes you find your true character.” To be honest, I didn’t know what that meant when she would tell me that. Till this day, I learned that all the hard times and all the good times are what makes me as a person. Obstacles and challenges are only life lessons for this game of life.

For being a kid that suffers from depression and anxiety, I walk around every day having the option to Face Everything And Run or having the option to Face Everything And Rise.

We’d love to hear more about what you do.
I am a filmmaker, but lately, I have been working on launching my own clothing brand. When I was younger, my parents always made sure I looked fresh and matched. So growing up, I have always been interested in designing my own clothes.

I am still making short films, but I have also been taking the time to learn more about fashion. From attending art shows to attending different museums, I want to learn the history of fashion and bring back old trends from the past. Every day, I am striving to be better and only make it to the top.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My goal is to have multiple storefronts for my clothing brand. Across the country. It has always been a dream of mine to have my artwork and my designs in stores that people can see. I have also been working on different sculpture designs that I hope one day can bring to life in the most random places.

When it comes to film, I have the goal of directing and producing my own movie. Along with the clothing line, I will continue to produce short films of the crazy ideas I have or short films that my friends and I create.
