Today, we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Alexis Sams, PT.

Dr. Alexis Sams, PT

Dr. Sams, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
The first half of my physical therapy career was spent in outpatient orthopedics. In 2014, I opened AZ Dance Medicine Specialists, which focused on injury, prevention, and rehabilitation for injured performing artists. During the COVID-19 pandemic, dance and fitness-related businesses became nonessential, and my clients, knowing that I also had a background in functional medicine, turned to me for support in boosting their main performance and preventing illness.

From there, my business pivoted, and I opened Renatrition Health and Wellness in 2020. I developed a unique framework that heals the body from the inside out to help clients overcome chronic illness and disease, but an interesting trend soon emerged. Clients started to report that at the end of their treatment programs, they no longer have the food, allergies, and intolerances that once held them back from enjoying the foods and activities they desired.

With over 15 million Americans suffering from food allergies, I pivoted once again to focus my business solely on helping people conquer their food, allergies, and intolerances more naturally so they can live life. They are free of anxiety and fear related to food. Reactions.

Let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
The biggest struggle has been believing in my ability to serve a new community of people despite all the unpleasant comments on social media.

I’ve learned that many people fear the healing process and react to offers to change what they’ve accepted to be permanent for them. I’ve learned that I can respect their choices and not let them stop me from offering to help others.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
The transformations experienced at Renatrition surround my FoodClues™ philosophy: “Every food you avoid is a clue to your health.” With this guiding principle, I’ve developed our signature FoodClues™ framework, a transformative approach that addresses the underlying issues driving food allergies and intolerances.

My comprehensive framework utilizes a combination of vitamins, minerals, herbs, and supplements tailored to your unique needs. Whether you’re struggling with gluten intolerance, dairy allergies, or sensitivities to other foods, my approach goes beyond mere symptom management to uncover the root causes of your condition and treat them so you can live the life you desire, free from the fear and anxiety of food reactions.

But our expertise doesn’t stop there. While my specialty lies in conquering food allergies and intolerances, our framework is also effective for addressing a wide range of other health issues. From menstrual conditions to digestive issues, thyroid and autoimmune disorders, and more, I’m here to guide you on your journey to optimal health and wellness.

With Renatrition, you can expect personalized care, research-driven solutions, and a genuine commitment to helping you thrive. Say goodbye to food restrictions and hello to a life filled with vitality and abundance. Services are offered virtually and at my clinic located in central Phoenix.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I am a big foodie, and I love all the restaurants that Phoenix has to offer.

I love all the farmer’s markets and local vendor events that allow me to connect with other small businesses. I also love that it’s not too far from other fun cities for quick getaways. I love the mountains mixed with the palm trees. I love the hot, dry weather.
