Meet Donya Stingley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Donya Stingley.

Hi Donya, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today. 
Funny enough. I started originally in high school. The Simpsons were my nail in the coffin. There was an episode with Lisa becoming a magician. I kept seeing magic TV shows here, and commercials featuring magic and The Simpsons were the, “alright, I see what you’re telling me.” moment for me.

Hard work and connections. You have to be willing to be more than your hometown/ friends. There are so many doors open, but you have to go look for them. Magic led to comedy, which led to acting and modeling.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No. One being in a state with no growth within its borders is a terrible place to be. If you’re making the money you want it’s good, it’s great. If not, of course, the latter. You have to find balance with all of this. I’ve witnessed great entertainers burn out. I’ve seen others give up and others get in their own way.

So many struggles. Money, work-family balances, other people’s misery. Having the right people in your corner is everything, but it takes a while to build that up.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Hi, I’m Pro4ecy, and I am a Jack of all trades! I do magic, comedy, script writing, acting, and modeling. I’m more known for Flossing with razor blades during my shows haha.

I’m more proud of the people I’ve met along the way. I know I could go to a hire level, and meeting people from all kinds of backgrounds never stops amazing me. Confidence! Doesn’t matter if it’s a huge stage or a dive bar. I’m going to perform!

How do you define success?
Happiness and comfort. Others see it as money/wealth. But as long as you’re in a good place continuously I truly believe you’re winning.
