Meet Don Beale of At-Ease Fine Mens Clothes in Scottsdale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Don Beale.

Don, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My introduction into sales began in the electronics industry as a wholesale consumer electronics sales representative. I quickly learned I had a passion for selling and transitioned my focus to retail sales. For over 30 years, I have been perfecting my craft starting on the sales floor; no job was too small. I mastered merchandising, marketing, receiving, buying and managing.

Progressing to business operations ultimately lead me to ownership, I continue to pride myself on my ability to engage my customers, create relationships and provide a unique shopping experience. I have a casual business style and treat everyone like family. Excellent, personalized customer service is not a thing of the past here at at-ease. I am honored to continue to serve the Valley community, as I have for over 21 years.

Has it been a smooth road?
As with many industry’s, retail felt the effect of the drastic market change in 2008. I was no exception. I was lucky enough to keep our doors open, continue to pay my staff and meet the needs of our clients. Today, we are strong because our motto of family and customer service never wavered.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the At-Ease Fine Mens Clothes story. Tell us more about the business.
I am known for destination shopping, a place to stop, relax, tell stories and listen to stories. I am a bike & outdoor enthusiast, as well as a dog lover and an able to incorporate that into my work as well. I love what I do and make sure those around me laugh and enjoy each day.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
There will always be many different levels of shopping experiences. From online to big box store, to small local business owners. In every business there are disruptors, however I am confident that my level of expertise in the clothing industry and top-shelf customer service will continue to sustain at-ease for years to come. As we learn, we just get better.
