Meet Dominic Mena

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dominic Mena.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
Strange Lot began after showing my bedroom demos to Tim Lormor (drummer). We decided to be equals in songwriting duties and put out an EP a month after forming.   Shortly after, we released a full-length which reached #73 on the CMJ Top 100 and was placed in the Top 10 Best Albums of 2015 by Phoenix Artists. Since then we have been direct support for international touring acts such as: Jesus and the Mary Chain, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, A Place to Bury Strangers, Kikagaku Moyo, Night Beats, among others.

Please tell us about your art.
We hope to make music that resonates within us and hopefully others. Our passion is writing/creating in order to find new sounds and song structures. With our live performances, we do our best to provide a seamless and captivating show.

As an artist, how do you define success and what quality or characteristic do you feel is essential to success as an artist?
For us, success is feeling good about the music we write and challenging ourselves. Collaboration is a huge part of our band.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
We play out at local venues like Valley Bar, Yucca Taproom, The Rebel Lounge, Lost Leaf, etc.
