Meet Diego F. Muñoz of Muñoz Complete Drafting Services in East Phoenix & Scottsdale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Diego F. Muñoz.

Diego, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
In 2002, I graduated from MTI College in San Bernardino, CA. I majored in architectural and mechanical drafting.

After years of working for a couple of architectural firms and construction companies friends started asking me if I could create for them construction documents to be submitted to the City for their home additions or remodels. It was then that I started doing freelancing, after a while my customers grew and in 2008 I started Muñoz Complete Drafting Services (MCDS) only running it part-time. Since 2014 MCDS has turned into a full time business.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
When I first started the hardest part was been building clientele. At first I started printing business card, I would go to the Home Depots and put a business card in every truck or van that I saw could be involved in building construction. Then I started advertising with Yelp and created a Google page. Thank God now I’m found on Google and by word of mouth I have built clientele.

Please tell us about Muñoz Complete Drafting Services.
MCDS specializes in residential architecture offering services to customers with their remodels, additions, custom homes, surveys and non-permitted structures and minor tenant improvements.

MCDS is also involved in renewable energy working with Low Wind LLC and Thunderbird Power Corp helping them in the development stage, are projected to generate utility-grade power in wind speeds beginning at 4-5 MPH (which prevail over approximately 90% 0f the earth’s land mass), at an unsubsidized cost of less than three cents ($0.03) per kWh. I’m responsible for all the manufacturing drawings and putting new ideas into working drawing 2D and 3D or animations for further studies.

I’m sure almost all businesses out there take pride in what they do just as we do. There is not a job too small or too big for us. We’re happy to work with other consultants to help them with their project or us hiring other consultants to help us with our projects.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I don’t think I would do anything different. I’m not saying I haven’t had my ups and downs, but I’ve learned from both ups and downs and that just makes us better and stronger to provide our customers with high quality services.
