Today we’d like to introduce you to Denisse & Jd Daniels

Hi Denisse & JD, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Our story begins during the Covid pandemic. We were searching for things that we could do during the period where most places were forced to close. We found some used P.A, equipment for sale and started using it for karaoke at home. We even went “live” on Social Media sites for friends and in a few online karaoke groups. When the Covid restrictions started to ease up, a close friend of ours in the Air Force asked us if we would host their Squadron Christmas Party. Although we never intended on doing much more than karaoke with friends, we were encouraged by many, to see if any bars or restaurants were interested in starting up karaoke again. We literally went from bar to bar, restaurant to restaurant to seek interest. Most businesses were not interested, and we really had no footprint in the karaoke business. Finally, a bar gave as an opportunity to host karaoke in their bar. Although we were new to the game, our goal was to bring a different kind of karaoke in the area. We had been to many karaoke spots in the past and always left a little disappointed in missed potential for karaoke fun. Some were too serious, some too unorganized but most lacking energy. We wanted everyone to have a great time regardless of if they were there to sing or not. Kingpin Karaoke was created, and we truly believe we have created a karaoke experience that is fun, genuine and true to or goal. Currently, you can find us at 3 different locations, 4 nights a week in Surprise, AZ.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Although it has not really been a bumpy road, it is not always been a smooth road. Some obstacles include maintaining a good work/life balance. We love the karaoke crowd; we are part of the karaoke crowd. But the karaoke crowd is not always the easiest to work with. For us, there is nothing more disappointing than having to tell someone that there is no more time to sing, or our queue is filled up sometimes an hour and a half before our end time. Even with some success, we almost always think back and ask ourselves what could we have done better? We are always still learning and trying new things to stay ahead of the karaoke entertainment game.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
We are most known for our karaoke energy. We use the phrase, “Mild to Wild”, often as the night starts off a little quiet and ends with a buzz throughout the bar. We operate as a two-person team and as husband and wife. This allows us to focus on the feel of the bar. JD can operate the boards and dial in sound, while Denisse creates a fun and energetic crowd by engaging with patrons and encouraging them to let loose a little. We are most proud of hearing and feeling so much love from our singers and non-singers when they share with us that they had so much fun. It’s great that we have a nice following of singers, but to us, it’s even greater that we have an amazing following of people that just come to watch. Kingpin Karaoke has grown to do weddings, school dances, private parties, Holiday parties and theme parties such as: Halloween Parties, Christmas Parties, White Lie t-shirt Parties, Onesie Parties, Anniversary Parties, Karaoke Contests and more. Each of our locations that we host, hold unique events.

What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to us is that we have the ability to help create memories and moments for people that could last a lifetime. Our karaoke style wants to bring people together to sing and dance together and even make new friends. We have met some of the best people being able to do what we do. It really drives us to give it our all each time. Making sure that each location is getting a great ROI is very important to us. We want our bartenders, servers and bar/restaurant staff to maximize earnings. When they do great, we feel as if we did a great job.
