Meet DeLa Preme

Today we’d like to introduce you to DeLa Preme.

DeLa, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My Name Is DeLa Preme! And I Say Shit Like Skrrrt Skrrrt And UGH! And I’m from Glendale Arizona. I’ve been making music, For a little over 6 1/2 years. I started out Freestyling in Class, at parties, at That Basketball court shit the Skatepark, wherever the cyphers were I wanted to get in there and snap. It led me to my homie RichSpect who had a battle league at the time, and I started to battle for the league and bread and the honor of my neighborhood. I love that time period because it gave me hunger, made my skin tough and got my bars right. There’s no beat to save you in battles if your bars aren’t dope you’ll hear silence. That energy and performance are why I’m so good performing now and why I’ve never needed background vocals.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I lost my mother last year, God rest her soul. She was my biggest fan and motivation for me to pursue my dreams. The reason I’m so focused now. Being the oldest of seven as well as a father, it’s always been bigger than me.  Leadership is something that I’ve always had to embrace. Everything I do is for my family and Glendale

Please tell us about your work.
I know most for my performances, I think that is one of the Major Factors besides My Lyricism that Sets me Apart from other Artist. I leave it all on the on Stage, whether it a small crowd or a Sold Out One, My Energy is always Felt. It’s my Favorite part doing this, being able to connect with new fans and people who are on the same Frequency as you is a beautiful thing. And I got my Language and Dances so I know those things set me apart lol I also have Jon Sullivan (The Best Engineer In AZ) and Sammy Black (The Best Videographer In AZ) as Brothers so I kind of have an unfair advantage.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Nothing. I can say that because if it wasn’t for everything I’ve been through up to this point, I wouldn’t be the person I am today. I’m grateful for the lessons I’ve learned and that I will learn as I continue to grow in this industry and as a person.
