Today we’d like to introduce you to Deanna Pierre-Louis
Hi Deanna, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
The Fruit of Labor: A Story of Faith, Love, and Purpose
Deanna Pierre-Louis had always been a woman of passion—whether it was through the graceful movements of dance or the deep-rooted faith that guided her life. Born and raised in New Jersey, she had spent years perfecting her craft as a competitive and professional dancer, moving with discipline and purpose. But it wasn’t until she stepped onto the campus of Temple University to study Kinesiology that she encountered a love that would redefine her future.
It was there that she met Nate Pierre-Louis, her college sweetheart. What began as a friendship quickly blossomed into something deeper, bound not just by shared dreams but by a mutual commitment to faith. They navigated the highs and lows of young adulthood together, learning, growing, and leaning on the Lord for guidance.
In 2023, they sealed their love in marriage, stepping into a new chapter as husband and wife. A year later, they welcomed their greatest blessing—Neo, their beautiful son. Parenthood brought new challenges and joys, each day teaching them more about love, patience, and the true meaning of sacrifice.
Through it all, Deanna and Nate realized something: their journey wasn’t just about them. Their love story, shaped by faith, trials, and triumphs, had the power to inspire others. They had gained wisdom through their experiences, and they felt called to share it. And so, The Fruit of Labor Podcast was born.
More than just a podcast, The Fruit of Labor became a space where they could have open and honest conversations about relationships, marriage, parenting, and faith. They talked about the beauty and challenges of building a life together, the lessons they learned as partners and parents, and how their trust in God had carried them through every season. It was a place for real, raw discussions—sometimes funny, sometimes deep, but always filled with truth.
For Deanna, the podcast was an extension of the values she had lived by: discipline, dedication, and faith. Just as she had poured herself into dance, she now poured herself into this new mission—offering encouragement and wisdom to others walking similar paths.
With each episode, Deanna and Nate hoped to remind their listeners of one simple truth: love, like faith, is a journey. It takes work, patience, and devotion, but the reward is always worth it. Because at the end of the day, the greatest blessings—the strongest relationships, the deepest faith, the most profound joy—are the true fruits of labor.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Life has a way of bringing unexpected storms, moments that shake the foundation of everything we know. For Deanna and Nate Pierre-Louis, their journey together has been one of both joy and deep sorrow, of trials that tested their faith and triumphs that proved God’s unwavering presence in their lives.
For Deanna, one of the hardest battles she ever faced was losing her father to cancer in 2021. Watching someone she loved so deeply fight a battle he could not win was devastating. Grief threatened to consume her, but in those painful moments, she clung to the only thing that could hold her up—the Lord. She found comfort in knowing that even in her deepest sorrow, God had not abandoned her. His love surrounded her through every tear, every prayer, every sleepless night. Though the loss left a permanent mark on her heart, she learned that God’s strength was made perfect in her weakness.
Nate, too, had his own journey of faith through adversity. As a college basketball player, he dedicated years to his craft, pouring his heart into every game. But in his junior season, everything came to a halt. COVID-19 swept through the world, shutting down the season and leaving him in uncertainty. For an athlete whose dreams revolved around the sport, it was a crushing reality to face. Yet, even when it felt like everything was crumbling, he held onto faith, trusting that God had a plan greater than what he could see.
That faith carried him forward, and for the last four seasons, Nate has played professionally in the NBA G-League. What once seemed like a roadblock became a stepping stone to something even greater. Looking back, he sees now that God was moving in ways he couldn’t understand at the time.
Through all of their struggles—grief, uncertainty, setbacks—Deanna and Nate have come to know this truth: God is faithful. When life feels like it’s falling apart, when the pain is overwhelming, when the path ahead is unclear—He is still in control. It may not always make sense in the moment, but with time, God reveals His purpose.
It’s this testimony of faith in hardship that fuels The Fruit of Labor Podcast. They want others to know that storms will come, but you don’t have to walk through them alone. God is present, working all things together for good. And when you finally see His hand moving, you realize—every trial, every tear, every moment of doubt was leading you exactly where you were meant to be.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Life has a way of leading us to places we never expected, and for Deanna and Nate Pierre-Louis, that journey has now brought them to the sunny landscapes of Arizona. Most recently, Nate signed with the Valley Suns, the Phoenix Suns’ affiliate G-League team—an exciting new step in his professional basketball career.
For Deanna, this season is a reminder that God’s plans are always bigger and better than what we can imagine. Just as He has done in every stage of their journey, He continues to show His faithfulness, leading them exactly where they are meant to be.
As they settle into their new city, Deanna and Nate are embracing all that Arizona has to offer—new opportunities, new connections, and, most importantly, a fresh season of growth both individually and as a family. With faith at the center, they are excited for what’s ahead, knowing that every step they take is another part of God’s incredible plan.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
In a world that often credits success, opportunities, and even hardships to “luck”, Deanna and Nate Pierre-Louis see things differently. They don’t believe in luck. They believe in purpose—God’s divine plan, carefully written long before they took their first breath.
To them, nothing is random. Every blessing, every challenge, every moment of joy or struggle has been orchestrated by God with intentionality. It’s not about being in the right place at the right time by chance—it’s about walking in the path God has already prepared
Trusting in God’s divine timing means knowing that even when things don’t make sense, they are still working for good. It means surrendering control, understanding that delays are not denials, and believing that what is meant for you will never miss you.
For Deanna and Nate, life isn’t about luck. It’s about faith. And when you trust that everything is unfolding exactly as God intended, you realize—you were never lucky, you were always chosen.
