Meet David and Audrey Rhone

Today we’d like to introduce you to David and Audrey Rhone.

David and Audrey, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
As an artist myself (Cadillac Rhone) I wanted to put my merchandise in a storefront as well as being able to sell it online, and most stores won’t put your clothing in their store unless you’re a big-time celebrity. Before I continue just let me say, me and my wife were looking for an office to conduct our business in any way since we do own a cleaning business plus my wife Audrey helps run a security company. With that being said we found a spot where we can conduct our business. The only thing was once we started talking about artist not having a spot where they can sell their merchandise especially a spot that wasn’t going to try and take them for their money, we end up turning our office into a clothing store where not just local underground artist but indie underground artist can sell their merchandise in a storefront without feeling like the storefront is trying to rape their pockets.

Can you give our readers some background on your art?
We are a clothing store that sells and prints custom t-shirts.

Do you think conditions are generally improving for artists? What more can cities and communities do to improve conditions for artists?
What do you mean by conditions? It’s a lot easier for artists nowadays. Just for the simple fact that you don’t really need a major label or distribution company to get your music to the masses. Though a major would help a lot but it’s not needed nowadays. At the same time, it’s water down. Everybody is a rapper even though not everybody can rhyme but if your image stands out. Meaning if you have a marketable image then you don’t really have to be good at rapping. As far as what AZ can do to encourage and help artist thrive, I would just say unity and support. If we keep unifying and supporting each other regardless if the artist is born here or not, then we’ll be alright. The more people that flock here to start their careers the bigger the scene gets. The bigger the scene gets, the more opportunities are created.

What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
