Meet Danny Quinn of Pubblico Italian Eatery in Central

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danny Quinn.

Danny, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have been in the restaurant business for most of my life. Prior to Phoenix, I lived in Santa Barbara CA and worked for a family owned group. We had five units ranging from two sit down seafood restaurants located in the Santa Barbara and Ventura harbors to breakfast/lunch concept to a fast-casual concept. I worked my way up in this company to operations manager and was in involved in all five units.

I moved my family to Phoenix in September of 2016 to help a friend with his restaurant. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, we had to close that restaurant and it was time to do something on my own. I opened Pubblico in March of 2018 and celebrated our first year this past March. Things are going as to be expected with ups and downs bight I’ve got a good team and am a fighter so things will work out just fine.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Never smooth… small business just doesn’t work that way. I think my biggest challenge is visibility and awareness. We are located in the back of the Crown building and unless you know we are there, it’s tough sometimes to find us.

Pubblico Italian Eatery – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We are a family owned and operated a restaurant and I pride myself on making everyone feel that sense of family… from my employees to the customers.

We specialize in homemade pastas and scratch sauces. Paired with a thoughtful wine list and cocktail program.
Also, our happy hour kicks butt.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The journey… from where I come from to a business owner is what I’m most proud of.
