Meet Danielle Petty

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Petty.

Danielle Petty

Hi Danielle, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve always had big dreams and goals of creating a full life where I could help others while prioritizing my own family. That remains my focus through to today, and everything I do is an effort to make that a reality. Starting in hospitality and then moving into customer service and sales, I have always found myself in roles that allowed me to grow in my career.

While leading a team at Google, I found myself working with hundreds of marketing agencies across the country and I was appalled to find how many of them were more concerned with cashing a check rather than helping the small businesses they were working with. The frustration of working for a large corporation and being unable to make a true impact with these businesses led me to break away from what I once considered my dream job and start Digital Radar.

Digital Radar is a rebellious marketing agency grounded in data that stands against “marketing-as-usual.” We are on a mission to ensure our clients have the peace of mind, knowing where their marketing budget is going. I have had the pleasure of working alongside a team of extremely talented individuals who are aligned with the same goal of delivering groundbreaking results that can truly make a difference to the businesses we serve. I’ve been building Digital Radar since 2016, and I am so proud of where we are today.

In 2022 I was approached with an opportunity to take my experience as a seasoned marketing professional who was classically trained by Google into web3 where I could utilize my skill set. I quickly turned into an NFT and web3 enthusiast when I saw the endless possibilities in this new and emerging space. I also recognized that women were grossly underrepresented, so I made it my mission to help bridge that gap and onboard as many as possible.

I was able to travel around the country speaking at different NFT, Crypto, and Web3 conferences about my experience launching the 90s Babes NFT collection and what it was like being a woman in a male-dominated industry. It remained important to me that I didn’t miss out on time with my family despite my busy travel schedule and constant traveling. I was fortunate enough to have my husband and son support me at each of these conferences we journeyed to.

In addition to speaking at a multitude of conferences, my team and I also hosted some incredible events focused on celebrating the nostalgia of the 90s and creating a safe environment for women to enter into web3 and be surrounded by thought leaders in the space.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not been a smooth road along the way… When working in a new space, there are always going to be challenges, especially when understanding the market and what potential customers will be looking for. There was a need to differentiate ourselves from other NFT projects while creating a basis to build a community.

We found the 90s to be something that everyone on our team was able to find identity behind… Whether it is the decade in which we were born or when we enjoyed comics, television, sports, or collectibles the most, we all resonated with how much we love the 90s. However, along the way, we struggled with being known as a ‘women-led collection,’ and the stigma surrounding that was challenging.

Many other projects that were selling out their collections at the time were either led anonymously or by males in the space and were surrounded by the hype of the potential sell-out and ability to make a profit flipping the NFTs purchased. It was hard to drive the same level of excitement without being backed by an influencer or having the same numbers as some of the other projects in the space.

I consider myself a serial entrepreneur. I am constantly finding new ways to express my desire to make a difference in the world through the businesses I align myself with. With over a decade of leadership experience, I am known to bring my marketing, sales, and customer service expertise, along with great attention to detail, into everything I do.

Being able to multitask with strong organization mastery, I have been able to extend my skills to a wide range of businesses and startup organizations allowing me to manage large teams, execute marketing decisions, and lead the creative direction of new projects to success.

I am extremely proud of the work put into building our marketing agency, Digital Radar, and being a part of creating a company that is truly focused on bringing results and bettering the companies we work with. Additionally, I am proud of what we have been able to accomplish with the 90s Babes. We not only sold out our entire NFT collection, but we also hosted dozens of wildly successful events for our community, truly uniting a group of individuals who love and celebrate the 1990s.

We have also partnered with an investor group to continue building upon this foundation, which will allow us to unlock a variety of activities, events, and collectibles for our community shortly. I am extremely excited to see what the rest of this year will bring!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
If I had to pick, I’d say the most important lesson I have learned along the way is how important it is to always believe in yourself. Imposter syndrome can be crippling, and for me, it always seemed to creep up at the most inconvenient times. Even though I was actively doing the work and seeing the results, I would still be quick to doubt myself or my capabilities.

Taking care of my mental health, along with scheduling self-care and time with friends and family, were key for me to get centered and refocused on my goals. I learned how important it was to never give up. On the other side of any setback, there is a lesson and where the next success would be. As long as I remained my own biggest cheerleader, I couldn’t fail.
