Meet Danielle Levy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Levy.

Danielle, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Major foodies for parents. I grew up eating amazing food, which helped inspire me to be in the restaurant industry for 20 years. I have been lucky enough to experience some of the best restaurants around. I started my food blog to further show my love of the industry and food photography and share that with whoever wants to follow my journey.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has been a smooth road. I really can’t think of any obstacles thus far.

Please tell us about your work.
As far as my work, I help run Chula Seafood Uptown. Chula Seafood has the best/freshest seafood in town. We have a boat in San Diego and do multiple runs a week from California to Phoenix to ensure we only serve fresh not frozen seafood to the valley. We provide fish to over 90 restaurants in town as well as wholesale in San Diego too. And we do it all as sustainably as possible. Outside of work I have my food blog on Instagram, Foodie Girl AZ. I feel my long experience in this industry helps set me apart from the many others who start a food blog. I also have a passion for photography and try to incorporate that into my blog as much as possible.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I have lots of plans for the future. I’m working on starting a podcast, 2 Chicks That Dish, in January of 2020. I’ve started a photography page on Instagram, Danielle Levy Photography. Chula Seafood is growing so fast and I plan on being there for the ride. Enjoying life with my boyfriend. Traveling as much as possible. One day owning my restaurant has always been a dream.
