Meet Daniella Peralta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniella Peralta.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Daniella. So, let’s start at the beginning, and we can move on from there.
From an early age, I recall having a strong interest in the beauty industry. I would always love dressing up and getting my hair done by my beloved sister Alexia Peralta. Over the years, we both experimented with different hairstyles and colors. Nonetheless, as I was getting older my interest for makeup developed and I began learning from my beautiful sister. I would always watch how she did her makeup and well it was no secret that I would go through our mom’s makeup to experiment with.
I was extremely fascinated by how my mom and sisther both enhanced their beauty; which seeing them made me want to grow up to be like them. I still recall my mother buying me kids’ makeup from Claire’s store and having a vast collection of flavored lip-glosses as well as Smacker’s Lip Balms at the early age of 9 or 11 years old. Oh, and best believe I went through some eccentric looks–well some have still stuck in some ways. Let’s just say I have learned lots since then!
However, the most shocking thing is that I would not dare use my Smacker’s Lip Balms or lip-gloss because I thought the smell would fade away and they were my treasure. So, I just kept them untouched until that phase was over and done with. Now, things aren’t so different after all because now I have lots of makeup that I actually use. Even though, sometimes my inner self from the past would like to keep some makeup products intact.
It wasn’t until middle school that I wanted to experiment and wear makeup. Thus, at that time my mom would only allow me to use clear mascara and lip-gloss. Eventually, I ventured on and was granted permission to rock eyeliner and foundation powder. It was until high school where the fun began, and my sister would do my makeup for prom. Those will forever be amongst the greatest memories I cherish because my mom would do anything to fulfill my desire to get glammed and of course my sister would be in charge of hair as well as makeup.
Once I became a senior in high school, things changed and well as you all know you are sought to pursue a career; which at the time I believed Business Management was the path I would seek. Less than one month after graduating early with honors from Project M.O.R.E. High School my mom passed away. It has not been easy but having my sister through all of this has been a tremendous help.
We are inseparable till this day, and she is my number one supporter! Through venturing and seeing a multitude of makeup tutorials, I finally took a course and found my true passion. Makeup is much more than executing an array of colors to a beautiful canvas [face]. It’s my profound love to share with others. Whether expressing myself through art to making some feel their absolute best and seeing their reaction is a true gift in itself.
Consequently, there were plenty of times where I would doubt my makeup skills and I would seek other jobs in distinct industries, such as: being a customer service representative, cashier, to name a few. Despite my lack of believing in myself others noticed my talent. Some even suggested to start my own cosmetics line because they saw how much I loved not only the process of applying but the knowledge I have for makeup products.
Until one day I told my sister I should start my own makeup brand. With her and my husband’s help, we were both able to start our own business. We now have our online makeup boutique! On August 1st of 2018, my sister and I started the beginning of DPMakeup Boutique. Long story short! I am now a certified makeup artist and founder of DPMakeup Boutique.
Regardless, of not completing my degree in Business I am now ironically learning how to manage our business. I am truly blessed, to say the least, and extremely thankful to all those who support my makeup career.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Great question! Most certainly it has not been a smooth road to get to where I am today and one of the most challenging obstacles, I have faced was to overcome myself doubt. Not believing in oneself, definitely sets you back from being the greatest you ought to be in life.
Therefore, I encourage others to believe in themselves and push one’s dreams forward to achieve greatness. As Theodore Roosevelt once said, “Believe you can, and you’re halfway there”! I would love to tell you that not believing in myself was the only obstacle I have dealt with. Yet, the utmost enduring obstacle I have faced was when reaching out to a chemist to develop products for DPMakeup Boutique.
At the time, I was extremely excited, to say the least to finally reach out to someone who could bring the makeup products I had envisioned to life! I contact this person through Instagram platform and then discussed business matters with this person through shared messages. Well after investing so much money and time I learned a lesson. After only four months later– it turned out that the chemist I reached out to was a complete fraud.
After this experience, I was distraught like I could not believe this was happening to me but oh boy it actually happened. On the other hand, my business partner (Alexia) had sensed something was odd since the beginning, but she let me take matters into my own hands as she did not want to crush my vision for the products we had in mind. Luckily, everything worked out, and we were able to obtain our money back after a lengthy investigation with our financial institution.
Moral of this short story is: take others advise into consideration and look out for red flags. Also, no matter how excited you are to work on your project make sure you do your research and actually meet in person before making business decisions. Even look for reviews if and when available. If this all works out in the end, then it’s a win!
Thankfully, we were able to recover from such experience and now have our amazing mink lash line as well as our dazzling DNA Glitters! Check us out at www.dpmakeupboutique.com. We are currently working hard to launch new products and make our business grow. We want to be able to offer great quality products at affordable prices.
We’d love to hear more about what you do.
I am a freelance makeup artist offering a service for any occasion at a reasonable price. Besides being a certified makeup artist, I am also a business owner. I am most proud of opening my own business with my gorgeous sister as well as having the support from my husband! It’s definitely amazing and adventurous.
Consequently, I am also proud and truly blessed to be able to collaborate with other businesses, such as Edgy Couture and Edgy Reporter. As that has opened the doors and opportunities to work with aspiring models like Raluca Pintea, Kayla Alise, Kaytlin McLaughlin, Nadiia Monique, Krista Stott, Jen Chace, to name a few.
I especially enjoy working on set for Photo Shoots and getting the chance to meet with incredible photographers from the valley, including Frank Giron, Dan Stone, Bill Kilby, amongst others. I love the creative process and being able to see my work being published on multiple channels of communication!
Now, what sets me apart from others would be the desire to have my client be satisfied with their makeup and service. I encourage them to let me know if they do not like it before I leave because I want them to feel comfortable as well as beautiful. Like, why would I leave them with a service they did not like and have to re-do their makeup themselves? They are paying for a service at the end of the day, and I truly want them to be amazed by my work. I try my best to provide every single client with a pleasant experience to remember.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up I was a girl enjoying life and expressing kindness towards others. I definitely listened to my mother and tried to be the best I could. Even though at times in my teenage years, I was a little rebel but I had the guidance of my sister who looked after me since I was a baby. As you see, growing up and being raised by a single mother to five children was a bit stressful, to say the least.

Personality wise, I am mellow and friendly. I like to have fun and dance to the rhythm of the beat! My recent interests include: watching YouTube videos, expanding DPMakeup Boutique, and interacting with my followers through Facebook Live sessions. You can catch me Live through: www.facebook.com/daniellaperaltamakeup or www.facebook.com/dpmakeupboutique.com

As for back then, I would say my interests were: creating collections of makeup/ pencils, as well as watching novelas, and playing kids games.
