Meet Daniel “Dano” Hitchcock of Møønlite Persuasiøn in Glendale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel “Dano” Hitchcock.

Daniel, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My musical journey started early in my life. I was surrounded by music because of my father. A phenomenal blues rock guitar player with great taste in music. From church band to weekend gigs, my first job was a roadie. With no gigs on the weekend, Saturday’s he would crank up the record player and shred on his Fender American Strat.

At age 14, I finally picked up a six string SG. I tested my father’s patience while teaching me basic open chords, strum patterns, and few of his favorite tunes. It clicked finally after daily practice and quickly became second nature.

During the summer, I would visit family in California. My cousin picked up playing guitar a few years before and we would jam for hours. He introduced me to heavier genres and I was hooked.

Throughout high school, my passion for music grew while I stayed busy with baseball and wrestling. After practice, it was straight to guitar, guitar hero or watch fuse or MTV. Eventually, I joined guitar club and built enough confidence to perform at my local HS church band.

Once my senior year rolled around, I created my first garage band with some friends called “A Crown Affair”. It felt awesome to win our first talent show with our first single. We took that motivation and began to play in venues and explore the music scene.

In college, I was hungry to learn more about music business, theory and audio engineer. I joined metal bands “Fight For Glory” “My Only Virtue” “We the Collectors” through my early 20s. I gained experience from these projects and strong relationships. We released EPs and full-length albums with outstanding producers and engineers. These projects applied marketing and advertising tactics, social media coverage and engagement. All while consistently putting out content and practicing every chance we got.

In 2017, my father and I talked about making a family project. We would jam regularly and record material. Our relationship grew stronger as each song was created. Each new song became our favorite until we knew there was enough material to do a full-length album.

Now 2020 is here, MØØNLITE PERSUASIØN will drop the first single “PACFIC CØAST” in early 2020 from our debut self titled album. Expect full release in fall 2020.

Has it been a smooth road?
I have overcome many obstacles and challenges. They are inevitable along the way.

Firstly, I struggled with theft. It was during a weekend house show. I arrived back after a long day at work to find two guitars missing from my room. It was the worst feeling.

Running a business with creative differences can be a big challenge. I’ve faced rough shows, a tour van breaking down, embarrassing moments on stage and fights with brothers.

At the end of the day, you have to do what’s right for you. We can’t fix or change anyone, but we can decide who we want to surround ourselves with.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I play guitar, bass, piano and produce MØØNLITE PERSUASIØN. My father, Eric, plays guitar and produces. My youngest brother, Ricky, plays saxophone. This is a family project formed in Glendale, AZ in 2017. We will release a debut self=\-titled album in fall 2020.

As much as I love to perform and compose music, I specialize in freelance video editing, social media managing, creating flyers/banners, graphic design and FB ads.

MØØNLITE PERSUASIØN is known for being featured on Arizona’s best burger joint, Aioli Gourmet Burgers Company Video and a reputation of outstanding performance.

I’m most proud of being able to do this with my family. It’s a great idea to leave a legacy and start the decade off right.

What separates us apart from other talented artist is our signature sound of sensational smooth jazz, acid jazz and catchy guitar melody licks blended with memorizing saxophone lines.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
From what I understand and have noticed, the industry is heading in the direction where convenience of being heard every min of the day is key. Being heard on every social media feed and understanding their algorithms and trends. Utilizing every amenities the platform has to offer. Finding new ways to use your music on these trends or engage with audiences. 5-10 years from now we may listen to music through new ways of consciousness and tap into dimensions with musical frequencies. Virtual reality exclusive concerts would be dope.
