Meet Dana Dodge and Michael Spadafore of Dobutsu Lounge in Scottsdale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dana Dodge and Michael Spadafore.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Dana and Michael. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Dobutsu Lounge started back in 2012 when Michael was asked to provide nightlife to a local event in Tuscon. Ever since then Dobutsu lounge has performed regularly at pop culture events in the valley and in 2014, I joined the group and quickly fell in love with hosting events for Dobutsu. Michael and I have worked together in order to make the lounge grow throughout the years by hosting spectacular events and we started sharing more content online of our members. Also, in 2017, we received an invitation to appear at our first out of state show at Sabakon Las Vegas and since then we have been contacted by multiple shows in and out of state to provide unique nightlife entertainment. We are very happy that we not only get to host events here in the valley but also in Las Vegas and Southern California.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When managing a group like Dobutsu Lounge, there is always a couple of bumps along the way. Like with any event nothing really ever goes smoothly, some of our biggest issues are managing the schedules of our members. In the past communication was a big issue for us both between our members and the events we were hosting Dobutsu Lounge at. Despite these problems, we have learned how to overcome these obstacles.

Dobutsu Lounge – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Dobutsu Lounge provides a unique adult nightlife entertainment experience at pop culture events. We dance, we sing, we tell jokes, we play games and we make people have a fun time. We are known for our themed events and try to use our staple theme of monster girls but sometimes we go outside of that and use pop culture ideas such as anime and video games. What sets us apart from others is our professionalism and quality of our craft. We are most proud of our staff members. We are filled with very talented people who put their all in making our events as fun and enjoyable as they are.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
In all honesty, I don’t believe that luck has had anything to do with the success of Dobutsu Lounge. Most of what we have earned has been through our hard work. The only thing that I can think of that has been lucky is the people that have attended our events in the past have been able to help expand our horizons. We are also lucky to have our fan-base who have suggested us to many events.
