Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced is maintaining my mental health which is something I think gets overlooked. Music has been my sanctuary, providing an outlet to express my emotions and stay grounded during difficult times. It’s been essential for my well-being, and it has helped me navigate through life’s ups and downs. Establishing myself in the music industry has required relentless effort and persistence. Helping building myself, a network and helping build some artist from the ground up and gaining recognition has been a major challenge as a female in the industry. Managing the responsibilities of being a DJ, artist manager, and A&R Director, while running my own production company, has demanded exceptional time management and multitasking skills.

Learning the “industry norms” while striving to stay true to not just my artistic vision all at the same time balancing FAMILY, my own business, the needs of the artists that I support, My Team, and the demands of the Networks and Labels. Also I having been through a lot of grief and struggles with relationships, which has required resilience and emotional strength when I had no other choice but to believe in myself and everything I am doing. Despite all of this, I’ve remained dedicated to my family, my craft, the artists I support, and my team, always pushing forward despite the obstacles.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Before anything else, I’m a musician at heart. My journey in the music world began long before I became BADBARiE or DJ CynBad. I started by playing instruments as a child, which laid the foundation for my deep understanding and appreciation of music. This hands-on experience with different instruments has given me a strong musical intuition that I now bring into every aspect of my work.

As DJ CynBad, I specialize in curating playlists tailored for specific events, venues, and corporate gatherings. In addition, as an A&R Director and Artist Manager, I’m dedicated to helping both established and emerging talent refine their craft, manage their careers, and navigate the complexities of the music industry.

What I’m most proud of is my involvement in the music community and how much I’ve grown into myself and who I am, as well as how I continue to thrive through my own work with BadBarbie Productions and collaborations with networks like Famous Factory Network, Arizona 1st, and ArizonaMixTapes, I’ve had the opportunity to support and elevate artists from all over. I’ve also been breaking out new artists in Arizona, like Milli Banks, Kenny Holland, Murkemz, and many more artist helping them gain the recognition they deserve.

What sets me apart is my work ethic and relentless drive qualities instilled in me by my parents, who never allowed me to quit anything and the military ethics and discipline that shape everything I do. I’ve developed a mindset that refuses to back down from any challenge. I approach every Project/Artist with a level of dedication and determination and a commitment to excellence, ensuring that I consistently deliver results, no matter the obstacles.
