Meet Crystal Resch of Toni & Guy in Tempe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Crystal Resch.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Crystal. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
In a world with endless opportunities, I knew I wanted a career where I could help people. But life threw a curveball at me when I found out I was pregnant at a young age. I now needed to pursue a career that would not only support myself, but my daughter, too. Hairdressing was an industry that would allow me to get my license within a year, and then allow countless opportunities for growth within the business while making as much income as I needed. The most rewarding part? Helping others feel good about themselves and building life-long relationships at the same time.

I started as an assistant with Toni & Guy in 2001 at the Fiesta Mall location. But I saw past the monotonous duties of rotating laundry, wiping the base boards of the floor, and shampooing as many people as I could. I was always keeping my goal in mind – to become an owner. I worked hard, put in the extra hours, and took great care of my clients. I was promoted to Assistant Salon Director in 2003. But I didn’t stop there. I was then given the opportunity to transfer and help develop the new Toni & Guy location at San Tan Village. So, in 2007, I moved myself, my daughter, and my business, to Gilbert. Now being in the up-and-coming area of Gilbert, Queen Creek, and San Tan Valley, Toni & Guy thrived. I was promoted to Salon Director in 2009 and continued to help establish Toni & Guy San Tan Village. All my hard work was paying off not only for myself, but for the salon. It was then in 2015 I was finally given the offer to become a Salon Owner to the newest location, Tempe Marketplace. Three salons, one move, and countless shampoos later, I had finally accomplished my dream.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Every dream starts with a trial. For me, it was discovering a team that shared the same dream and passion. Gradually, the right team came along and found their places here at Toni & Guy Tempe Marketplace. We are a team that grows as a family. Working together towards the success of Tempe Toni & Guy.

So, let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Toni & Guy Tempe Marketplace story. Tell us more about the business.
Toni & Guy is a hair salon, known for its British precision with Italian flare. Toni & Guy was founded in 1963 in London, and the culture has carried through to 2018. We pride ourselves on our culture. At Toni & Guy, it is our passion to help our clients not only look good but feel good. We specialize in detailing and personalizing each clients’ look to their career and lifestyle. We strive to “roll out the red carpet” for each them. Not only with our customer service, but also with the quality of our services. What sets us apart from other salons is that all our stylists participate in continuing their education. This means that no matter how long a stylist has been doing hair they participate in classes that keep them up to date on the latest trends in the industry. Ultimately allowing us to cater to all colors, lengths, and types of hair.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Good luck has allowed me to have faith throughout the ups and downs of my life. It has surrounded me with a team that has become my family. It also has allowed clients to sit in our chairs, which creates everlasting opportunity to turn them into our lifelong friends.
