Meet Shanntel Hobbensiefken of Cinnaholic in Gilbert

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shanntel Hobbensiefken.

Shanntel, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Originally from California, my husband and I moved our three children to Arizona in 2017. We left our teaching and corporate marketing jobs to work full time in our family operated bakery. We opened up shop in the San Tan Village area of Gilbert in July of 2019. Our bakery is a gourmet cinnamon roll dessert shop and is 100% plant based. We have loved being at the shop every day, meeting so many amazing customers, and getting to be a part of their Cinnaholic experience.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a long journey for us. We have a new found appreciation for any small business owner. It took us months to find the right location, then months to complete our build out. We started with an empty building. It was so fun to watch each step of the way.

Please tell us about your business.
We’re proud to serve create-your-own cinnamon rolls and other sweet treats like made from scratch brownies, cookies, and edible cookie dough. Select from over 20 unique frosting flavors and a variety of fresh and decadent toppings for your cinnamon roll. Mix and match flavors to create a new experience every visit! We believe in using the highest quality ingredients. All of our products are fresh-baked and 100% vegan, dairy & lactose-free, egg-free and cholesterol-free. We also cater for social gatherings, office meetings, weddings, showers, and birthdays. Our customers especially love our DIY cinnamon roll bars for parties. It is freshly baked plain cinnamon rolls, with frostings and toppings on the side for their guests to truly customize their rolls.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Offering only the freshest and highest quality ingredients, as well as keeping that personal touch with our customers is what allows us to be successful. We love what we do.

Pricing:

  • Our rolls start at $5.25, then add $.25 per frosting flavor, and $.50 per topping.
  • We also offer bulk pricing: $28/half doz and $56/dozen Old Skool rolls.
  • Baby Buns are $10/half dozen and $20 per dozen (includes 1 frosting flavor)
  • DIY Cinnamon Roll bars are $7.99 per person.
  • We deliver within a 30 miles radius for $25 flat rate.
