Celeste, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My name is Celeste Encinas. I’m a wife and a mother of a beautiful little girl. Her name is Lola, and she arrived in September of 2018. I have been a Placenta Encapsulator for two years.

I decided to become a placenta encapsulator after hearing so many remarkable testimonies from women all around the world of the beautiful benefits of encapsulating their placenta. The first placenta I processed was after my nephew was born. I jumped right into the process and fell in love with how amazing the placenta worked and wanted to offer this to the community. Once I had my own experience with my placenta capsules, I became a true believer. I did experience postpartum depression with my beautiful baby girl. I was super emotional, overwhelmed, frustrated, sad, and had many moments of feeling as if I had lost myself. Once I was able to consume my placenta pills, it was shocking to see how quickly the clouds parted for me. I then became totally in love with my baby girl in the way I had always wanted. I attribute all of this to my placenta capsules; It was a night and day difference before having my placenta. I am a living testimony to the fantastic benefits of placenta encapsulation.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It’s never a smooth road when you are trying to change the world one mom at a time. Consuming your placenta right after birth is not the normal thing to do these days, and we can’t blame moms who don’t want to. The idea of eating an organ is not the most exciting, hence why we do placenta encapsulation.

The other challenge is getting hospitals and doctors on board in supporting moms with this choice. Some do not believe it has any benefits and tries to sway moms from trying it. Once we have more moms and evidence in its benefits, we will be able to see the needle move to support it. We are the only mammals that do not consume the placenta right after birth.

Mommy made placenta encapsulation is a beautiful and unique postpartum service for new moms. We specialize in taking a fresh placenta right after birth and encapsulating it in a clean safe environment. We are known for documenting the entire process from pick up to drop off on our social media accounts. Almost like a doctor pimple popper. We also take much pride in our packaging. We want every new mom to feel beautiful strong and cared for when they get their pills back from us. Each encapsulation is packaged in a beautiful pink infused water bottle that is then placed in a gorgeous white Box which we then put in a cute bag all and hopes to put a smile on that mom after doing the most amazing thing she could do in the world.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up I have always been a caring and sensitive person. I learned that I had a passion for birth work in my early twenties and always seemed to be drawn to it. People also best describe me as a hippie deep inside who still loves sparkles and shiny things.
