Meet Lela Reynolds of Cavaliere Couture, #SocialExchange Marketing in Scottsdale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lela Reynolds.

Lela, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Since graduating college, I was a slave to my job. I worked in sales – and I worked BRUTAL hours. I slowly watched as my personal relationships, physical health, and mental health went by the wayside. One morning in 2016, I woke up and just said… “This isn’t my path. I don’t know what I am going to do, but I can’t do this anymore.” That same day I walked into my job and gave my two weeks notice. The way I looked at it, if I’m going to work those kind of hours, I want to work those hours for ME, not for someone else.

A few weeks later, I started my first company – Arabian Horse Exchange. It is a sales platform for Arabian Horses and it gave me my first taste of entrepreneurship. A few months after, I started a digital marketing and advertising company called #SocialExchange Marketing and a year later, I started my E-Commerce business, Cavaliere Couture.

In 2019, I sold my first company (Arabian Horse Exchange) and have been focusing all of my efforts on my other two businesses.

Has it been a smooth road?
Nothing in life is a smooth road! We all have to battle various obstacles. Of course, having your own business is a learning experience – I had to learn how to run my own business, learn marketing, learn design… I had to learn a lot of skills I never had to use before! But I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

On a more personal note – I was diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder and Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder two years ago. Since then, I have also started a venture as a mental health advocate to let others know that they don’t have to walk whatever paths life throws at them alone. I also started a mental health blog called Confessions Of The Not So Perfect Girl.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Cavaliere Couture is my absolute love! It is an online-based business specializing in Athletic and Fitness wear, Equestrian wear, and casual wear. It is set apart from other companies because of the unique material, deep pockets, and functional grips for equestrian sports and yoga.

#SocialExchange Marketing is also unique – I am a small, boutique agency who only accepts ten clients at a time.

And of course…. these are female-owned businesses and I am a one woman show!

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I LOVE Scottsdale. It is a very active community – so fitness wear is a necessity. There are also a lot of world-renowned equestrian riders here, so my equine fashion line is a standout!

I would recommend any small business owner come to Arizona – most other western states (like California) are too expensive for someone starting out. Arizona has not only a breath of different industries, but it also has a life to the city like nowhere else! Of course, you will just wish it was not so hot.
