Meet Cassandra Petruzzella of Cassie’s Candids in Peoria

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cassandra Petruzzella.

Cassandra, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started this business out of pure passion for photography, and my love for people and their lives. I love the art of capturing loved ones in their own element and getting to meet new people, all while continuing to expand my horizons, and take a snapshot of a lifetime memory.  I started in 2017, after I had been pursuing photography for two years prior as a hobby.  The senior photos, family photos, and portraits I had taken occasionally started to happen more regularly, so I felt I should make my own business out of it. Here I am, a year later, and I have an Instagram account with photos of beautiful people on my page, amazing clients and opportunities, and plans to continue growing my business through social media, and word of mouth. Something that just started as a hobby I was passionate about quickly turned into a way for me to capture precious memories of others, while continually reinvesting back into my growing passion.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The hardest part of having my photography business is finding and building a clientele, alongside with consistency with posting photos along with making my page aesthetically pleasing. It is a struggle to stay motivated to shoot in a busy week, and staying creative and new with ideas consistently.

Please tell us about Cassie’s Candid’s.
I focus on making each and every photo different, and capturing feelings and emotions in each frame. Something I am most proud of with my company is expanding my vision, and my expertise. Something that sets my photography business from others is my personal relationships with my clients, as well as my genuine desire to get to know each and every client.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory from my childhood was the constant exploring of the world around me. From having lots of land, to having a cabin in the forest, and to constant trip to the beach, I always got to see new things, and experience life.
