Meet Carrie Graulich

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carrie Graulich.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I started out taking pictures of my family at all of our events when I was a kid. I loved capturing the candid moments that were happening. I decided to expand my subjects outside of my family. Eventually, it turned into weddings. Then it grew into pageants and portraits and newborn photos.

I love photography. I love the memories. I love the feelings that a photo can invoke. Even though you may not know the subject or the context in which the photo was taken, you can feel the mood. Love, excitement, admiration, contentment, curiosity- all come rushing through in the split second of a photo.

Please tell us about your art.
My photos are all about people and their story. Whether that be a maternity shoot that documents a new parents’ journeying and exudes all their quirks or a senior who is about to graduate high school and wants to portray their style before they embark on their adult life.

Everyone is different so their photos should reflect that. Whatever that may be, they should be able to relate to the product I deliver. It’s my job to see it and make it a reality.

As an artist, how do you define success and what quality or characteristic do you feel is essential to success as an artist?
Success comes when you deliver a product that your client wants everyone to see and they show it off every chance they get. One of the greatest compliments I get is when I take a photo and see it as a profile picture.

Referrals mean the world to an artist because we know our work has touched someone in a positive way and they want their loved ones and friends to have that same experience.
