Meet Carla Olivares of Beauticians On The Go Mobile Spa and Beauty Salon in Scottsdale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carla Olivares.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started this business 15 years ago while working corporate on the side. I decided to fully dedicate myself to this business about 10 years ago, and left the corporate world completely. My journey has been very rewarding watching people smile and feeling amazing. We service just about any age from four years to 100yrs old. I know its crazy! I fall in love deeper with my business everyday. I feel we are making a difference either from cutting someone’s hair in a rehab center to doing a pedicure and manicure for a kid that is fighting cancer.

On the other, we work in a beauty and glamorous settings doing hair and make up for runway models/celebrities. A lot of my work is making sure that the area managers have all their beauticians fully booked and that we deliver quality and great customer service. I also do image consulting for individuals that are looking for a total change with their hair, makeup, wardrobe and sometimes, I give business advice.

I graduated from ASU in December of 2016 with a double major in business and communications. Getting my degree has helped me tremendously in running my business. I am a mom of two beautiful girls, Saira and Odette and married Jose. I look forward to making a difference in someone’s life by keeping their self-esteem and personal care at its highest level.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
When becoming an entrepreneur, you do face obstacles, gatekeepers and financial hardship at times.
In my situation, it was having the stability to be able to leave my corporate job and fully dedicate myself to my business without getting into debt. That was one challenge.

In addition, I was going to school at the time finishing a double major in Business and Communications at the Arizona State University, so my time management was hard at times to keep up with my business and complete my assignments on time and maintain a good grade.

Another challenge while working and going to school was making sure I was available for my kids at home and making sure I was there for my husband too.

Overall, it can be overwhelming, but if you keep your head up and don’t give up you can overcome any obstacles.

Beauticians on the go mobile spa and beauty salon – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We offer Mobile Pedicures, Manicures, Corporate Massages, Facials, Hair and Makeup and Chair Massages.

All of our Spa and Beauty services are provided at your site, hotel, resort, work facility, photo shoots, corporate events, hospital, care facilities, hospice, retirement home, assisted living and rehab centers.

What I am very proud of my company is that we are able to serve individuals who cannot travel to a spa or beauty salon.

That is what’s sets us apart from other companies, we are able to offer mobile personal care from spa to salon services.

Knowing that we are there to help our clients with their personal care needs makes me feel amazing. in addition, seeing the natural reaction as they see themselves in the mirror smiling, some crying t is beyond words.

Making people feel good about themselves and boosting their self-esteem, makes my heart smile and gives me the motivation to keep growing as a company and be able to offer these service everywhere.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Personally, I define success by overcoming all obstacles to start with.

Also, when you finally are able to transition from your current job to your business is a success. When finishing a job assignment and you hear that the client was very happy with the services that is a success.

In addition, when your employees are happy working and making money, that is a success.

If you are able to balance work, family, school, and friends, that is success.

Finally, when coming home with a great smile and being happy with your job or business to me that’s success.
