Meet Candice Danford

Today we’d like to introduce you to Candice Danford.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I have been taking photos for as long as I remember! You know back in the day when my mom bought film, to the disposable ones. I’m not sure when I got my first point and shoot but I was fairly young. So, I have always loved capturing memories! That led me to scrapbooking and learning to find to find the best photos for my albums. I got my first professional camera in 2012 and haven’t looked back! Since then I have taken countless classes to learn this skill and always looking for other ways to grown. I am definitely known for the one who brings the camera to events to capture the memories and now taking photos of my boys with my real camera and not my iPhone.

Please tell us about your art.
I am a natural light photographer specializing in maternity, family and children. I love delivering a session to a family and knowing they love their photos. It’s something they can treasure now and for generations to come! I want my clients to know that I take capturing these moments seriously, so don’t worry about your cranky toddler or maybe even teenager sometime during the session we will get a beautiful smile and all will be right in the world!

Given everything that is going on in the world today, do you think the role of artists has changed? How do local, national or international events and issues affect your art?
With what I specialize in, I do not think the role of artist has changed. I think having professional family photos is more important to people today than it was 10 years ago, people want to hold on to memories but I can see depending on what type of photography is specialized in how certain events can affect ones art.
