Today we’d like to introduce you to Caitlin Penny.

Hi Caitlin, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself. 
Art has always played a major role in my life. Everything I did growing up included some sort of artistic ability or activity. My name is Caitlin Penny, and I have been a graphic designer since 2010, and founded my own business, Copper Theory Creative, in 2016. When I founded my business at the age of 24, I was excited, and my dream of being my own boss was worth fighting for.

As a female business owner, I have been lucky to find many amazing mentors along the way who inspired me to never give up. As the company grows, I never forget the small business owners, clients, and supporters that have believed in me since day one. Our version of changing the world is making your brand be seen in the best way possible so you can change the world in your own way.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Entrepreneurship is a tough road! It just depends on how you react. It’s a roller coaster that you can’t get off of, and you have to decide how you deal with the highs and the lows. Last year was definitely the toughest. I went through some personal hardships and was attempting to run a business at the same time.

At the end of the summer, I had to take a step back and look at the big picture. I wasn’t happy. I wasn’t doing the things that I should have been doing. I was in the weeds. It was year seven, and they say something significant happens every seven years in business or in life… and it did.

All of a sudden, something clicked. I knew my purpose and values, I rearranged the team with driven entrepreneurs who matched the vibe, and I stopped being a project manager and started being the CEO. I am happy to say that we are a thriving team and have had the most successful year to date. I feel great!

What matters most to you?
Relationships. We want to make sure everyone is making the most money possible! The way to do that is to have a personal relationship with each and every individual we come in contact with. From the team to the client, everyone has a voice. AND WE LISTEN!
