Meet Caitlin Begay of Chandler

Today we’d like to introduce you to Caitlin Begay

Hi Caitlin, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
In high school, I had a deep love for creating art and was always the quiet student who focused on expressing myself through my work. After graduating, I pursued a degree in Intermedia Art at Arizona State University. However, two years into my studies, I discovered my passion for teaching and decided to switch my major to Art Education. I recently graduated with my degree in Art Education, and my goal is to inspire Native youth to explore their creativity and express themselves through art.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One of the biggest challenges I faced was staying consistent, which is something I continue to work on. Balancing school, life, and creativity was also difficult at times, especially when trying to find new and inspiring ideas. However, these challenges have pushed me to grow, adapt, and find new ways to stay motivated and creative.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
For my creative brand, I focus on digital artwork and photography. I love creating digital pieces that highlight my Diné culture and identity, as well as realism art that captures the beauty of nature and animals. Photography is also a passion of mine, and I’ve had the opportunity to capture live music, which was an exciting and enjoyable experience.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
I’m always open and willing to collaborate with other creatives. I’ve enjoyed working on artwork for live music, and it’s been a rewarding and exciting experience. I’d love to continue using my art to help others—whether it’s designing logos for musicians, brands, or other creative projects. I’m always excited to collaborate and bring ideas to life.
