Meet Cadillac Rhone

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cadillac Rhone.

Cadillac, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
Born in Des Moines, Iowa moved to Phoenix, Arizona when I was 3. We moved around a lot as a kid. Always stayed in the same area though. We lived pretty much from the I17 to 43rd Ave and from Bethany Home Rd to Indian School Rd. That was the general area we moved around in. Until I was 11 and my parents divorced. We then moved to Chandler which at the time there was nothing but cornfields, cotton fields, and vacant lots. There was nothing to do but get into trouble lol. But during this time I started writing poetry which eventually turned into me writing raps. I couldn’t tell you if they were any good because I never use to share them with people. As I got older and started hanging out with people that rapped, I started gradually spitting a couple lines here and there to friends, which turned into rapping in ciphers at lunch. In the early 2000’s I put out this demo tape, and I’m not going to lie, but the sound quality was trash, but because of it I was able to link up with a local producer at the time who had connections with an independent director. So I was able to record a couple of tracks for an independent movie soundtrack, and I had a small role in the film. But sadly the movie nor the soundtrack never came out. Around this time my 2nd son was born, so music was put on the back burner. Though I still wrote and recorded features for guys in other states as well as other countries. It wasn’t until I met T.M.K. (The Mic Killa) and Felix (Bag Of Tricks Cat). These two encouraged me to keep pursuing this music, and for that, I will always be thankful. It’s because of that encourage meant I’ve been able to open for artists like DMX, Rick Ross, Bizarre, Slim Thug, Juvenile, and a few others.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do? Why? And what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I am a hip hop artist who uses words to paint pictures. I do this for several different reasons. The main reason is because it’s therapy for me. It’s how I deal with stress, depression, and all those types of emotions. Don’t get me wrong it’s also how to express those good days when I’m feeling good and just want to turn up. I hope when you play one of my tracks whether you’re going thru some rough times or you’re getting ready to hit the club. That the music hits your soul and helps you get thru whatever it is you’re going thru, or it helps to get you turned up for the night.

How can artists connect with other artists?
Only advise I can give is don’t be scared. Closed mouths don’t get fed. Network…network…network

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
I’m everywhere so if you google Cadillac Rhone or I use to go by Dat Nga King De. If you google either of those names, you can find me. So if people really want to support go on Spotify, iTunes, Google Play, YouTube, or any other streaming platform and buy my music. Subscribe to my channels, follow me on social media. You can even come to my shop AZ Bonafide Apparel and by some merchandise. Trust me any and all support is appreciated.
