Today we’d like to introduce you to Bruce Weber.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey began in the technology sector working for Fortune 50 companies Microsoft and Hewlett Packard. I held various management positions with a worldwide emphasis on partnerships. That working together with others to create success became the foundation for the creation of my boutique management consulting firm the Weber Group. I have always had a passion for helping others and wanted to strive for impact in the community which is why my firm focuses on Social Sector organizations commonly known as not-for-profits. As an alumnus of Valley Leadership I participate in working to address issues around the un-homed and those less fortunate.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has been a very rewarding business to build! We can see the real impact of how our work helps the client to realize their dreams and achieve their ambitions. The dynamics of our economy have made it difficult to plan as things shift quite rapidly. We have worked closely with our clients to adapt to this rapid change and adjust accordingly. Our successful model of planning using a Strategic Framework enables our clients to adapt to changing environments and adjust as needed.

How do you think about luck?
I worked for a computer networking company that was acquired by a larger firm. The acquisition firm never really wanted to be in the business we were in, just securing our IP. After about a year, my entire division was laid off and the business downsized. It was right before the New Years holiday and my daughter was only 3 years old. The job market was very competitive and I was concerned about my future. As luck would have it, one of my colleagues received a call from a search firm about an opportunity and she was not interested so she referred the recruiter to me. Turns out the job was with a major player in the PC software industry, Microsoft, and exciting opportunity. After landing the position, I was never so grateful for the layoff. I had a very successful career with Microsoft and was fortunate to reap the benefits of a rewarding career!
