Meet Brittany Nemec

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Nemec.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I started photography after I was searching for my photographer for my wedding. My husband (fiance at the time) had a DSLR camera so I picked it up and started shooting anything and everything possible like his car, my dogs, etc. Not too long after that I started offering free sessions for families to get my name out there and build my portfolio and the rest is history!

Please tell us about your art.
I create timeless memories. By capturing the purest moments that you’ll cherish for a lifetime, I am able to create my art which is something that makes me so happy and proud. Being able to stop time for a moment so that someone can remember their children when they were babies, or when you first fell in love and were planning your wedding to the day you actually got married. Those moments in time can’t always be remembered with all of the little details, but I am able to capture those. My inspiration comes from my own cherished moments. Being able to capture my loved ones, my new baby boy, my family and all the little moments in between, that’s what keeps me going and inspires me to do that for other people.

Given everything that is going on in the world today, do you think the role of artists has changed? How do local, national or international events and issues affect your art?
I think it inspires artists rather than affects them or changes their role. From all the political events/rallies, to all of the malnourishment and wars going on internationally; it helps inspire artists to capture these moments for the world to see. It helps us bring more awareness because we are able to capture a photograph of something some people may never see who don’t travel to these parts of the countries, or who don’t live in poverty/wealthy areas.
