Meet Britt Smith

Today we’d like to introduce you to Britt Smith.

Britt, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My “child free” days, I was a freelance fashion stylist. Since adding three tiny members to my tribe, I have traded the boujee brunches and all day photo shoots for kids’ snapbacks and graphic tees. I started with 30 followers on Instagram (mostly family & friends) and quickly grew my following to 13k within three years. I have collaborated with over 600 small shops and larger companies. My IG bestie friendships are like no other and their amazing support is what I am thankful for. I know those relationships have gotten me to where I am today.

Has it been a smooth road?
Would not allow myself to fail. These words resonated in my head and I put a plan in place to achieve my dreams. Of course, I was scared and a little bit nervous, I’m only human, but I also knew what I was capable of. I would put the kids to bed and get to work, sending out 10- 20 emails a night to companies I wanted to work with. With the highs and lows, I never gave up! I will never forget my first collaboration with a company called @lovebubby. Jaime, owner and founder, and I are very good friends to this day and I am thankful for her for leaping faith with me. Some weeks I am on a roll with pictures to post and lots of ideas. Other weeks I feel completely in a rut and need to find a way to shake things up. That’s just the creative process though, ebbing and flowing as it was always done. So those words “never give up” still mean everything to me as I expand my little empire. I am also incredibly thankful for my husband and all the family support I receive. I could not be where I am without them.

Tell us more about the business.
With over 600 collaborations on Instagram, ranging in products from bikes to shoes, I have created an enormous buzz for the companies I feature. In the past three years, I have gained over 13,000 followers and I know the power of social media. It is a force unlike any other and I know how to harness that force and use it to take a brand or product to a new level of exposure. Simply put, when I post a product I love, followers take notice.
