Meet Brennah Davis of The Marketing Matchmakers

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brennah Davis.

Brennah, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started my first marketing agency back in 2012, really by accident. I saw a gap where businesses needed help telling their story online, and I jumped in. Over the years, I grew multiple agencies and worked with all types of businesses. One of the biggest lessons I learned came from being part of what I call a ‘yes agency.’ We said yes to everything, whether it was in our lane or not, and I quickly realized that not being a true expert was not serving our clients well. That experience taught me the power of niches and how important it is to specialize.

At the same time, I kept noticing how often businesses struggled when hiring marketing partners. They would waste money, feel burned, or get stuck with the wrong fit. I saw how much time and trust was being lost in the process. That combination of lessons—understanding the importance of expertise and seeing the pain of mismatched partnerships—is what pushed me to pivot and launch The Marketing Matchmakers.

Instead of running campaigns myself, I focus on helping business owners find the right agency partner. It is like matchmaking for marketing. I take the time to understand their goals, challenges, and budget, then connect them to vetted agencies who can actually deliver. What makes this powerful is that businesses are no longer stuck with a ‘yes to everything’ agency, but instead get matched with true experts in the areas they need most. Along the way, I have been part of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization Accelerator program, which has helped me refine the business model and scale it in the right direction.

On the personal side, I’m also a single mom. My son is a huge part of my story, he’s my motivation and my reminder that growth isn’t just about business, it’s about who you’re becoming while you build it. So today, I balance both: growing a business I love and showing my son that you can take small, consistent steps toward big dreams.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely not a smooth road. Entrepreneurship rarely is. Along the way I’ve had to dissolve an agency during my divorce, and later split from another agency because my partner and I had very different visions for where we wanted to take it. Those were tough moments especially when you’ve poured yourself into building something, it’s hard to walk away. But both situations forced me to get really clear about what I wanted to create long-term.

On top of that, I’ve faced the usual challenges of running a business, cash flow, tough hires, figuring out how to scale, and I’ve also dealt with more personal struggles, like navigating cancel culture and raising my son as a single mom while growing a company.

None of it has been easy, but each challenge has sharpened my resilience and helped me refine my purpose. Every setback has ended up being a stepping stone to building something that feels aligned and sustainable.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My company is called The Marketing Matchmakers. We do exactly what the name suggests: we match businesses with the right marketing agency for their needs. After more than a decade running agencies myself, I saw how often businesses were wasting money on the wrong partners. They would get burned, feel frustrated, and lose trust in marketing altogether. I wanted to change that.

What sets us apart is that we do more than make introductions. We actually take the time to understand the business, their goals, challenges, culture, and budget. From there, we bring them a curated shortlist of vetted agencies that are the right fit. We do not charge the businesses for this service. The agencies pay us, which keeps the process really accessible.

Brand-wise, I am most proud of the fact that we have built something that feels fresh, transparent, and human. Marketing does not have to be smoke and mirrors. It should feel like growth, clarity, and the right partnership. I want people to know that our brand stands for protecting entrepreneurs from wasting their time and money, and instead connecting them to partners who can truly help them grow.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happiest is growth in myself, in my son, and in the businesses I work with. I love seeing people step into their potential, whether that is my son learning something new or an entrepreneur finally finding the right partner and watching their business take off.

I also find a lot of joy in testing my own limits and pushing past them. CrossFit has been a huge part of that for me. There is something powerful about doing what you once thought was impossible. Every time I hit a new PR or master a skill, it fuels the belief that I can keep going further. I carry that mindset into business and into motherhood. It is about proving to myself that I can rise to the challenge and showing my son that he can too.

Another piece of what makes me happy is living out my core values of transparency and honesty. Whether it is in business or in life, I love showing up authentically and building trust through that. It gives me joy to know people can count on me to be real and straightforward without judgment.

And of course, I find happiness in the little things that balance out the hustle: time with my son, traveling, hiking, and creating memorable experiences. Those moments fuel me and remind me why I do the work I do.

At the end of the day, what makes me happy is the mix of building something meaningful, pushing my own boundaries, living true to my values, and being present for the life I am creating along the way.
