Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandi Walsh.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Brandi. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
It all begins with Stella the Airstream Photo Booth; a 1966 classic camper we found in a field in St. George, Utah. The summer of 2016, my husband Phillip, my son Pearce, and our bloodhound Roscoe hit the highway for a strip mall in Page, Arizona in pursuit of our American dream; to turn an iconic silver trailer into Arizona’s only Airstream photo booth. Fast forward, and Stella—the first in a future fleet—has been lovingly renovated to capture memorable moments at private celebrations and corporate events all across Arizona and surrounding states.
One of our favorite aspects of the business is that the whole family can be involved, including our son. He has been hands-on in all areas of the startup. From contract meetings with vendors to getting his hands dirty, degreasing hubcaps on a Saturday. We want him to feel like he’s a full partner. Hopefully, this will grow to be a business that is still benefitting his kids someday.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Since there are no blueprints for how to outfit an Airstream with a photo booth, everything we’ve done to build Stella the Airstream Photo Booth has been custom. We’ve experienced challenges from the get-go, including dicey brake lights and roadside electrical work the very day we purchased the camper and towed it down from Page, AZ.
Other lessons learned have included choosing the right building materials, creating our own templates, and working with vendors to create unconventional solutions – like how to fabricate the electric sign so that it can be temporarily taken down and replaced with a custom sign featuring our client’s logo or design. There are no instructions for what we’re doing, and while that can be frustrating at times, it’s part of what makes Stella one-of-a-kind.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Likes & Dislikes:
We love that Phoenix has maintained the frontier spirit of the wild west. The city is much younger than the rest of the country, and with that, opportunities for growth and new developments abound. Anything is possible.
What I dislike? Summers in the city are the worst, there is no sugar-coating that.
