Meet Kim Spector of Body by Kim in Scottsdale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kim Spector.

Kim, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was born and raised in Scottsdale. My father was the first car dealer in Scottsdale. He instilled in me customer service and salesmanship at a very young age.

I have known about Ultrasonic Cavitation for years and had read so many articles about it. But, no one in the US had it available. I was given the opportunity to buy a machine out of Europe and lets sat the rest is history. I have always been very conscious of weight, physical appearance and nutrition. I received my aesthetics’ license in Colorado when I ran a private label company out of Denver. I had studied nutrition in school. I started out just working on myself and watching every video I could find. Soon I was working on my children and friends. Not long after, I had total strangers calling me to come for treatments.

I contacted a friend of mine in Las Vegas to help me formulate a business plan and a brand. Body by Kim was born. To date we have three locations. Two in Scottsdale at The Optima Sonoran Village and our newest and largest in The Ahwatukee Foothills. Our next venture will be the West Valley. We are over 3000 active clients strong. From the age of 10 to 87. 30% of our business are men.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Nothing that is your own creation and has your name on it is easy. There has been a learning curve and everyday something new pops up. But, I have a wonderful staff and most days we run like a stream roller.

In the beginning, I was alone and worked 7 days a week. Many days from 7 am to 7 pm. I felt like a bat. Training and aging the technicians get the right verbiage down is always hard. We also deal with a lot of heat. So we have to be very careful not to hurt anyone. Some people can be very cruel and many hate a success story, but I feel that I was meant to be in this business for a reason. I am very blessed and tired!

Body by Kim – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Body by Kim specializes in Ultrasonic Cavitation Body Sculpting. My business is based on weight loss, detoxing the body and anti-aging.

Ultrasonic Cavitation is a very high pitched ultrasonic wave and heat. We melt what is inside fat cells, sea off the cells and liquefy toxins. Toxin in case themselves in fat and join forces to almost look like bubble wrap. All of these a pushed through the lymphatic system and expelled. The key is lots of water.

I am most proud of our clients. I see people’s lives change on a daily basis and their smiles are the best gift of all.

We treat everyone with respect and listen to what their needs are and what they hope to accomplish. You re nothing without happy clients.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to me is a happy client. Over half of our business is word of mouth or referrals. We like to laugh with our clients, hug when they need a shoulder and feel we are always there to listen. Customer service is pinnacle to any successful business. If someone is unhappy, it is my job to make them happy. My phone is on 24/7 and I return all calls myself.

Your staff has to have the same mind set and we have to work as a team. We are really more like a family.
