Meet Blanca Deolarte of Hypernova Design & Printing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Blanca Deolarte.

Blanca, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started 4 years ago, 2014 when I decided to quit my job. I was working for the same company for 8 years and I was starting to feel that there wasn’t more room for me. To grow as a professional as a human and as a creative. Even tho I was working in the graphic design area I wasn’t feeling free, so I decided to quit my job and start by my own. One person that helped me to take the decision was a guy named Eddie, he wasn’t my friend we just know each other because he used to advertise with this company

I was working for, so one day he asks me: “How much do you need to open your own business? I can give you that money… I want to invest in your creativity” I was in shock because somebody was trusting me more than myself. So that day I got home I told my partner about this crazy guy and she told me… “Do it” So I did! Well… I didn’t need any money to start my own business because I already had a computer so I just thank Eddie for helping me to trust myself and start this beautiful journey.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The biggest challenge was to get involved in all the things that a business owner has to do. I was good at graphic design but I didn’t have any clue how to run a business, so I was struggling with the administration, with all the paperwork etc. So I had to search for some classes that help me get organize, teach me about licenses, get my finance on track, etc. I had to learn about a whole new world that I’m still learning.

Please tell us about Hypernova Design & Printing.
At Hypernova we specialize in corporate image. We help business owners to own their brand and expose it the right way. And our target market is the Hispano/Latino community because since Hypernova was founded we had 1 thing in mind: Empower the Latino business community by giving confidence about their logo, their business cards and all printed material that helps create a good brand. Targeting this community doesn’t mean to open the door for the rest because we are an “OPEN FOR BUSINESS TO EVERYONE” business and we are proud about it.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Have some savings! Because when you don’t have a paycheck every other week for sure can get a little frustrating.
