Today we’d like to introduce you to Bicasso.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I grew up in a family full of creatives from wood working to cosmetology and art in many forms.
Please tell us about your art.
My art is inspired by the socially abstract beauty of what is not only mine but black women’s mind, body and spirit. My intent is to represent our strength and ability to not only palliate the everyday struggle to exist but to unshackle those around us and empower them to be great. You should know that I am inspired by everyone around me. I hope that women can identify with my pieces and are empowered to be true to themselves.
What do you think about conditions for artists today? Has life become easier or harder for artists in recent years? What can cities like ours do to encourage and help art and artists thrive?
I believe that there’s a need for more showcases and pop up galleries. Music inspires me and I think collaborative work is important. I think it’s getting better but we need more.
How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
You can see my work on social media and I have a website. Support me by sharing with friends and family or purchasing.
