Today we’d like to introduce you to Bennett Paul IV.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
It started with me helping a friend’s father pick out an outfit for his anniversary. He wanted to look dashing and modern for his wife. I asked for his sizes and quickly picked out three to four complete outfits for him to try. He absolutely loved them and received compliments from his wife. He told his colleagues about me and they contacted me and it went from there. I created my blog website (www.urbane.online) to inspire and aid men in creating great outfits for any occasion. And I also do fashion consulting for my clients. I personally think fashion is meant to make you feel prideful and confident, but most importantly comfortable. So, I aim to do that completely. I also started selling watches and accessories on a company I co-founded (www.kingsmenlife.com) for men and women. My goal is to aid men and eventually women in being able to express themselves fully without feeling embarrassed.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There definitely have been some bumps on the road. From creating Kingsmen: & Urbane to finding time for family and friends. I’ve always had an entrepreneur mindset and I am to accomplish my goals. But they never tell you exactly how difficult it can be when you start from the bottom. But as my father has always told me: ‘if you ever fall down, get up and walk it off’. And that’s exactly what I do. And because of these struggles, I’ve met some fantastic people along the way.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Urbane – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I personally am an entrepreneur. I am a co-owner/founder of Kingsmenlife. I also am a fashion consultant as well as a blogger for my website Urbane. I also help other people try and grow (DJs, musicians, and Photographers). I’m extremely proud of being able to participate(even though it’s a small step) in the fashion world. Seeing the shocked look on people’s faces when they look at themselves in the mirror after putting on an outfit I put together is amazing. You can literally see the happiness resonate in them. Allot of people never realize just how powerful you can feel in a dapper outfit. It can change your outlook on life. I feel like what sets me apart from others is that I’m a fresh face that isn’t shoving crazy fashion down your throat. I simply favor classic, timeless fashion. And since most people do not want to constantly try and keep up with the trends. I create outfits that you can mix and match and still be standing out.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I’m from New York, and to be honest, I like it here more. I love the artistic demographic here. It may not be well known, but it is growing. From sculptures, graffiti, films, musicians and fashion shows. This place has it all. And since this state is still fairly young, there isn’t a set “mold” to conform to. From First Fridays to the nightlife, the list goes on. In regards to what I like the least? I’d say I’d like to see more mom and pop stores than corporate ones here.
