Meet Beatriz Ramirez of Chandler International Film Festival in Chandler

Today we’d like to introduce you to Beatriz Ramirez.

Beatriz, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Currently, I am vice-president and social media marketing director for the Chandler International Film Festival. Working with colleagues on the creative and technical sides, I have been able to expand CIFF’s social media presence to reach across multiple channels. This is after having worked with clients in the local political arena including Chandler Mayor Kevin Hartke, Vice-Mayor Terry Roe and City Council Members Jesus Rene Lopez and Mark Stewart as well as other Council candidates. I helped with creating promotional videos for an online writing course for cancer survivors that was put together by a local author (and herself a cancer survivor) Lynne Hartke, wife of Mayor Kevin Hartke. I also do short videos and social media promotion for Zerimar Medical Equipment Services, which is the local small business that my husband Paul Ramirez and I own and operate. I am a social media vice-president for CRW, a local non-profit organization, and am on the committee and social media subcommittee for Census 2020 for the City of Chandler.

How I became involved with CIFF was through Council Member Rene Lopez. He knew of my work personally and of my passion for doing photos and videos and being connected in the local community. For me, it’s all about Chandler, the city that I love. And to me, my commitment to the Chandler Film Festival is to help it grow and become one of our biggest and best attractions for people not just In Arizona but from around the country and the world.

But it isn’t just about me. I am part of a team with other hard-working and like-minded people who are also committed to the same vision I am for the Chandler Film Festival. And the way I got here is through perseverance, hard work and a passion for what I do.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Language! I am a native Spanish speaker born and raised in Mexico. Also, it is a new experience for me to be involved with something in the entertainment (film) industry. There is a lot to learn.

Please tell us about your organization.
