Today we’d like to introduce you to Bear Prandelli.
Hi Bear, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Our story is kind of a weird one.
The company was founded in 2017. I had just finished working on a cannabis farm in Northern California while my brother Wolf had just wrapped up with college at Bard College in New York. Both of us had always talked about how we wanted to work in film or video production together, and we decided to form the company.
For the first two years we lived (somewhat illegally) out of a warehouse in Tempe. We showered at the gym, did our laundry at the laundromat on weekends, and, for the most part, spent all our free time working on developing the business and finding clients to work with.
Over time, we built a lot of relationships with other professionals in the industry and started to focus our goals more on storytelling and branded content. While our primary focus is currently a lot of commercial video work throughout the greater Phoenix Metro area, we also work on lots of project out of state for advertising agencies.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has not been smooth. It’s been a constant wave of ups and downs.
Working in video production (especially in Arizona) can be tricky. It gets so hot out here in the summer that all the shoots move indoors, or they simply get put off until it’s cooler outside. Navigating this seasonal market can be somewhat stressful but also rewarding.
Other than the seasonal work, some of the toughest things to deal with have been managing growth and knowing when to pull the trigger on big decisions. Learning how to manage budgets in a sensible way has been a lifesaver.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
WulfenBear Media specializes in creating branded content, corporate mini-docs, and video commercials. Over the course of our time in business, we’ve worked on testimonial videos, commercials, music videos, festival videos, explainer videos, and beyond.
At the current time we are most focused on the storytelling aspect of video production. If there’s not a good story behind what you’re creating, why bother talking about it?
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up.
My favorite childhood memory was not having to pay taxes.
