Today we’d like to introduce you to Bailey Boettcher.
Bailey, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Bailey Boe Photos all started with one of my closest friends, Kali M Photos. Kali needed a last minute second photographer for one of her weddings. I had never picked up a camera, and really had no clue what I was doing. Second shooting that wedding forced me to learn how to use a camera FAST. Luckily, I didn’t just catch on, I LOVED it. I then started tagging along with Kali M Photos to some of her shoots to gain more practice. At that time, I was still working a typical, 9-5 job as a salesman…not exactly my calling. With the help of friends and family I was encouraged to quit my sales job and focus solely on photography and I haven’t looked back since!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Bailey Boe Photos didn’t come about easily. I started Bailey Boe Photos out of a need for happiness in my life. As I mentioned previously, I was working a corporate sales job. When COVID-19 first hit I had to start working from home, alone with no one to talk to while working. I was not happy, and the people closest to me saw that. As mentioned before Kali M Photos really encouraged me to try and make something out of photography. Of course, there have been obstacles of trying to learn industry but I see the process of starting and running your own business as riveting and fun!
We’d love to hear more about your business.
I am an Arizona based & traveling wedding, elopement & portrait photographer for those who not only want to capture their memories, but make some during the process! I love to capture those madly in love, the adventurers, the goof balls and the free spirited. I specialize in creating authentic and carefree photos with a splash of warm and moody tones.
What were you like growing up?
I was a very creative child growing up. I was in band and played the clarinet for 8 years. I absolutely loved it! I eventually grew out of it and wanted to try other things. I was always in my own other world and was never really comfortable with the thought of just being comfortable. I was always trying something new whether that be an activity like gymnastics, ariel yoga, or ceramics, etc. To this day I am always looking for new activities I can add to the list.
