Today we’d like to introduce you to B.
Hi B, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve been shooting videos ever since I can remember with old hi-8 and digital cameras. As I got older I got into concert photography/videography and started shooting local shows around LA. After shooting basically every venue in the city I got hooked up with Hazel-E who opened up doors for me to work with MTV and VH1. Eventually, my life changed when Futuristic told me to quit my day job and move out to Arizona to shoot and travel with him. From there I got to tour all over the U.S. and Europe and got to work with people like Desiigner, Jelly Roll and Diplo. I ended up getting a Degree in Digital Cinematography and got hired on full-time with the Arizona Diamondbacks where I traveled with the team, created in-game videos and was published by ESPN. Now working with Demi Bagby at Big D Media I get to travel to places like Dubai and Austria to work with brands like Red Bull and F3 Energy.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all. When I first started shooting in LA I was still working as a Pricing Analyst for a mortgage company. On any given day I’d work from 8-5, drive two hours in traffic to shoot the opener of a local show, stay the whole time to shoot the headliner, then go home and edit photos and recaps until 2 or 3am. I would wake up at 7 to go to work and do it all over again. A lot of times I would take lunch as early as I could just so I could catch up on sleep in my car. I spent many lunch breaks like that. There are plenty more hardships along the way, but if I didn’t stick with it in those early days there’s no way I’d be where I’m at today.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I take all limitations off myself where no idea is too crazy which allows my brain to stay at max creativity.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Anyone can hit my Instagram @bmenace for any potential collabs. I’m always open to working with new people and expanding my network of creatives.
