Meet Austin John

Today we’d like to introduce you to Austin John.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
From Oahu, Hawaii. Went to college for one year at NAU. I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to go to school for so I dropped out after that year. Without a direction in life, I spent the next year traveling the islands of Hawaii, the west coast, and the midwest. After a year of traveling, I moved back to Arizona and started photography. I experimented with different styles until I fell in love with contemporary photography and Instagram influencing.

Please tell us about your art.
I do two styles for my work. For my social media influencing, I create travel content to inspire people to travel and learn new things. For my personal work, I love to shoot contemporary and evoke emotions and intimacy.

We often hear from artists that being an artist can be lonely. Any advice for those looking to connect with other artists?
For the last couple of years, I’ve met some of my closest friends including my girlfriend via Instagram. The platform has helped me connect with like-minded people.
