Meet Audrey Monroy of Beauty&BrowsByDri in West Phoenix

Today we’d like to introduce you to Audrey Monroy.

Audrey, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Hello! My name is Audrey. However, everyone calls me Dri for short. I am 24 years old with two beautiful daughters. I grew up in west Phoenix Arizona. Growing up I found my passion in makeup. I started to experiment and play with makeup expanding my knowledge and love for the beauty industry. I then started my own business doing makeup for events such as sweet 15, baby showers, weddings, etc. I began doing freelance makeup back in 2014 and from then on, I moved my way up with building a portfolio and clientele. I love doing makeup; however, I wanted to add another service for the ladies that’s more long term and convenient, something we do in our day to day life and that will make it easier for the ladies. I took a course for ombré powder brows which is semi-permanent makeup on the brows. It gives the look of penciled in makeup with an ombré or bold effect depending on client preference. The brow tattoo lasts 1-3 years. I enjoy enhancing the beauty within the client’s facial features. I love that I can make them even more beautiful than they already are and to top it off, they no longer have to spend countless hours doing makeup trying to get the perfect symmetrical shape. I love doing what I do. And until I reach the top I won’t give up. I’m a natural-born hustler and I go hard for what I love.

Has it been a smooth road?
I feel like there is never a smooth road on good things that come to you. There’s always good and bad but you get fortunate to receive a good outcome. I feel like some struggles were when I got out of the training I wasn’t as confident to do brows then I told myself if I don’t practice practice practice i won’t get where I need to be. For me, I am a perfectionist so until I get it right, I won’t stop and that’s exactly what I did. I got out of my comfort zone started promoting my business more via Facebook/Instagram. People often get easily discouraged when they don’t see clientele but I knew if I pushed hard enough, all the struggles would be worth it.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
My business is Beauty&BrowsByDri, meaning I offer makeup sessions for all events Weddings, bridal parties, fashion shows, baby showers. I am known for providing beauty sessions for events as well as semi-permanent makeup. I not only specialize in just makeup services I also specialize in ombré powder brows which is tattooing your brows creating a filled in makeup look mimicking the look of real makeup. Hence, the client no longer has to do their eyebrows. I am most proud of is that I get to make a woman feel more beautiful than they already are and enhance their beauty within.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Yes! I honestly feel that you can have good business anywhere; it’s honestly all how bad you want it. What’s going to speak is the grind, time, and dedication you put into your business. I started with nothing, no clients no over time, I kept promoting myself sharing my work giving word of mouth and my clientele grew more and more. From then I was booking months out. It is such a blessing to go hard for what you love and watch all the hard work pay off. Don’t ever let anything stop you. Continue to be your own biggest supporter. As long as you put in the time, grind and dedication. You will get to where you want to be with your dreams.
