Meet Ashley Whited of Bloom. A Hair Joint in Chandler

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Whited.

Ashley, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started out not even liking hair. Wanted to do something in the medical field. I ended up going to cosmetology school on a whim. I quickly fell in love with making people feel great about themselves. I have continued my education along the way and will continue to do so as this industry is ever changing.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Definitely, there have been some struggles. Long nights of whether this is really a career or just a hobby. You get many people who look down upon our industry as just a “hobby” or “not a real job”. However, when you are passionate about something why not make money while doing it. Why not love what you do for a living.

Bloom. A Hair Joint – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I am a curly girl and color specialist. I love all color and all textures of hair. Curly girls are my absolute favorite. I love being able to embrace one’s own natural features. I love enhancing the current beauty of the hair with color and a nice cut.

So, what should we be on the lookout for, what’s next in store for you?
I have recently just become a business owner. I am super excited to see where this stage in my career takes me. I would love to spread my knowledge to clients and even other stylists.
