Meet Ashley Redick of Mise en Scène Events

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Redick.

Hi Ashley, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.

You know that saying, “She got it from her momma”? Well, I got it from mine! My mother and grandmother were both amazing party hosts and they instilled this excitement in me from a young age which is why I love planning events so much. They made everyone feel welcome and connected, and it was this feeling that I wanted to recreate at every event I planned.

My passion for people and events brought me into the world of business, where I started my own company. It all started in 2012 when I established A & K Party Pals, which is now Mise en Scène Events (mez änsen, which is French for “setting the scene”).

Mise en Scène Events is a full-service event planning, design, and production company. We’ve been in business for more than a decade combined. If you’re looking for balloons, fabrications, custom décor, rentals, florals, or stationery, we’ve got you covered. We have designed, planned, and produced events for clients nationwide including weddings, corporate functions, galas, retreats, upscale private parties, and many more.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?

The road hasn’t been easy for me, but I have overcome obstacles with grit, resilience, and perseverance. Both of my parents passed away during the early stages of my company’s development. As a full-time caregiver, I ran my business and made sure to be present for my family.

I’ve had some significant successes (and some setbacks) over the past few years, and I’m looking forward to what the future holds.

I like to say that “Every entrepreneur has struggled before they succeed.” While my story of success doesn’t exist without the many challenges that I experienced along the way, I do believe that living through those difficult, challenging moments has made my story all the more compelling for others as I share my experiences and knowledge with them.

Approximately two years ago, we moved our family-owned business from Nebraska to Arizona.

Every aspect of the celebration is handled by us, from conception to completion. Bringing a client’s vision to life is our passion and our creativity never ceases.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out.
Keep your eyes on the long term. Don’t chase immediate results. A quick fix can be misleading, it can result in cutting corners, and it is not sustainable. You should always be looking for the long game, not just to make a quick buck. Maintain integrity at all times.
