Meet Ashley Puente of Ashley J Boutique in Ahwatukee

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Puente.

Ashley, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Ever since I was 13 and got to pick some places to shop at, I have always loved boutiques! The different styles, different brands, and knowing that I would get a piece most people can’t find everywhere! I have always loved boutiques and always wanted to work in one or possibly someday even own one! Owning a boutique at 15-16 seemed completely unrealistic to me because of how young I was! Until one day, my dad mentioned something about an online boutique, and boom it hit me! Social media has a tremendous effect on businesses and helping them grow! It occurred to me why not open an online boutique, start out with a few items, make a social media page and see what I can do! With the help and support of my family and friends, I was able to open my very own online clothing boutique at 16! I am now 17, and it’s been about seven months since my boutique opened up and I am growing everyday and doing pop up events here in Arizona where I am from!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Owning a boutique this young has not been the smoothest road, Since I am a full-time student, have a second job, and do everything for my boutique on my own, sometimes I do get overwhelmed with everything! I am very thankful for my family and friends because they do help me when I need it and help make life a little easier! I know all this responsibility comes with owning a small business and I am entirely grateful this is my life now and I can live out my dream!

Please tell us about Ashley J Boutique.
Ashley J Boutique is a women’s clothing boutique with sizes xs-3x, and what sets us apart from other businesses/companies is we are a small/local business! We do lots of pop up events around our area and get to connect with people about our shop and share my story! I also handpick everything out for my shop, so you can’t find them most places!

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I don’t think I would change anything if I had to start over because even though somethings could have gone better I’ve learned from everything I’ve done and how to improve for next time!
