Today we’d like to introduce you to Arthur Yemchyk.
Arthur, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started dancing as a kid ballroom dancing. Then I saw all that music videos on MTV with Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and others and I told my parents I wanna go to dance same style of dance. As I’ve been living in small town in Ukraine, we haven’t that much opportunities to learn HipHop because it was something new. But we find one teacher in the town who did HipHop style and that’s how I start dancing HipHop.
I started traveling around the Europe to took classes from famous choreographers who came from US for Dance camps, dance conventions etc. And I said to myself I want to be a good quality dancer and dance here in LA.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Life is a big challenge. But I always accepted it like a life lessons for growing up!
Arthur Yemchyk – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I’ve been dancer and choreographer in Ukraine. I taught classes around Ukraine and Europe. My students are winners the most famous championships like Hip Hop International Ukraine. I also been judging Ukrainian National championships and Hip-Hop International Ukraine.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I am a person who always want to grow up, so I don’t have a final criterion for that.
