Today we’d like to introduce you to Antoinette Fisher.
Antoinette, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started hosting events in 2009 (Phoenix Fashion 4 A Cause) a fashion show to raise awareness in various health issues. (Breast Cancer, Lupus, Autism and HIV/AIDS) 2019 we hosted our 8th year in hosting this fashionable event.
I also host a fashion show called Love Sick that raises awareness in women empowerment. With the funds raised go towards my nonprofit She Is She Project which we teach youth entrepreneurship and girl empowerment. We have hosted the Love Sick fashion show for five years.
I have also started hosting the AZ Black Women’s Expo. An event is to provide women of color the perfect opportunity to shine and get their services and products out there in the market. This Upcoming August will be our 3rd year.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Success is never a smooth road. I am learning every day.
AZ Black Womens Expo – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I host fashion shows and events. I am mainly known for Phoenix Fashion 4 A Cause & The AZ Black Women’s Expo. I love creating events that people love to come out and enjoy and just have a great time
Tell us about your childhood, what were you like growing up?
I am the oldest of seven, so I was more mature and into school. I also played basketball ball. I was and still is interested in giving back to my community. My first event I hosted was called Operation We Care were we partnered with 101.5fm, and we feed over 300 homeless clients at CASS.
