Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Quintana
Hi Anthony, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Growing up my dad would always take me to the movies on the weekend. His love for film rubbed off on me at a young age. Since I was a kid, I was always in sports and wanted to be a professional football player. That was my dream. I got to high school and was plagued by a multitude of serious injuries my freshman year. My dreams were shattered. I started reading books like the alchemist and Ask and It Is Given and my life was changed. I started to visualize what I wanted out of life and started to feel a draw to making movies. I took my first acting class in high school, Brophy College Prep, and fell in love. I wanted to go to acting school for college but my parents refused. I instead chose to study finance at ASU and minor in film. I graduated and got a sales job but never lost sight of the dream. I started to write, produce, direct, and act in my own films and have been growing ever since. Up till now, I’ve financed my own films/stories but now have the opportunity to create my first feature with outside investors!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Absolutely not. I’ve hit many financial and relational roadblocks along the way. I’ve lost friends and learned some hard lessons in regards to trust. I feel a great deal of pressure and responsibility for the other people involved in the projects I’ve created and constantly obsess over the films I’m making. With that being said, I’ve learned so much about the business, the process, life, and about my self. I wouldn’t change a thing!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am the owner of my own production company called Infinite Imagination Productions LLC. I am a writer, director, producer, and actor for short and feature films.
I specialize in writing, producing, and acting which I would say I am most known for being able to do all 3.
I think what sets me apart is the fact that i make my own opportunities. In the film industry, many times people, especially actors, get caught waiting around for an opportunity to come knocking. I really take my future into my own hands by writing and financing my own films, all in an effort to grow my acting career. I don’t believe anyone in Arizona has made the quality of films that me and my team have the ability to make. From all aspects: writing, acting, cinematography, music, and sound.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Persistence might be the most important. I think hard work and optimism are right up there but without persistence, people tend to lose their light. The fire inside them. And give up on their dreams/goals.
